FIVE schools in the Mildura electorate will share in more than $500,000 of Victorian Government funding to help with refurbishment projects.
Beulah Primary School ($95,000), Manangatang P-12 College ($85,000) Ouyen P-12 College ($105,000), Werrimull P-12 School ($100,000), Wycheproof P-12 College ($80,000) and Tempy Primary School ($65,000) have all been included in the latest round of the 2019-20 Planned Maintenance Program.
Member for Mildura Ali Cupper said the funding was particularly welcome given no schools in the electorate received funds under the Victorian Government’s Building Works stimulus funding.
“It’s great to see some of the schools from the smaller towns in the Mildura electorate being included in this latest round of funding,” she said.
“The COVID-19 crisis has hit communities across the electorate hard but particularly some of the smaller towns.”
The funding will go towards refurbishment work such as painting, replacing or fixing floors, windows and roofs or resurfacing outdoor areas such as paths and stairs.
Ms Cupper said investment in infrastructure for schools in the electorate remained a key focus leading into the October budget.
