RDHS planning support requested

MEMBER for Mildura Ali Cupper has written to Victoria’s Minister for Health, Martin Foley, requesting action be taken to plan for the future of Robinvale District Health Services (RDHS).
“In the face of a changing health sector in small and rural communities, RDHS needs support to help plan out its infrastructure needs over the coming ten, twenty and thirty years,” Ms Cupper said.
“A thorough assessment of RDHS’ assets and what changes are required should be done as soon as possible.”
RDHS provides a variety of health services to the community through its main hospital campus in Robinvale, alongside an aged care hostel, and a second smaller campus in the community of Manangatang.
“An infrastructure plan and assessment could not only highlight what facilities are in most need of improving but also facilitate moves towards providing extended primary and preventative care,” Ms Cupper said.
“I would urge the Minister to particularly look at supporting the integration of advanced paramedic roles in the Robinvale community to increase the availability of health services.
“We need to find the service gaps, identify solutions, and get on with the task of supplying ongoing quality health care in Robinvale and surrounds.”
