Vaccination target met eleven days ahead of schedule

ALL four local government areas in the Mildura electorate now have more than 80 per cent of their over 15 population fully vaccinated.

Member for Mildura Ali Cupper said what has been achieved across the board is incredible.

“It’s amazing that I can represent an electorate that’s demonstrated time and time again what it means to look after each other.”

Mildura’s rate of full vaccination has risen to 82.1 per cent, Yarriambiack hit 87.6 per cent, Buloke jumped to 92.6 per cent, and Swan Hill eclipsed 95 per cent.

Back on August 25, Team AC used available vaccination data to project when North West Victoria would likely reach its 80 per cent full vaccination milestone.

North West Victoria was predicted to hit its 80 per cent double-dose vaccination target on Saturday, November 6.

Instead, that benchmark was met on Tuesday, October 26, eleven days ahead of schedule.

“What the latest vaccination numbers demonstrate is the appetite of people to get their lives back to normal, and the way to do that is through vaccination,” Ms Cupper said.

“Having over 80 per cent of the eligible population in Mildura, Swan Hill, Buloke and Yarriambiack fully vaccinated means the vast majority have boosted their protection.

“Importantly, they’re also safeguarding those around them, including young children and the medically exempt, who are unable to get a COVID-19 vaccine.”
