Voucher validity for Little Athletics Centre

MEMBER for Mildura Ali Cupper has successfully lobbied the State Government to grant the Mildura and District Little Athletics Centre (MDLAC) access to the Get Active Victoria vouchers program.
“I’m delighted that the State Government has listened and has amended the Get Active Victoria guidelines this week, so our local kids and families get a fair go,” Ms Cupper said.
MDLAC was previously ineligible for the reimbursement vouchers, as it is affiliated with the South Australian Little Athletics Association (SALAA), instead of Little Athletics Victoria.
Prior to the change, only clubs that were affiliated with peak Victorian sporting bodies were allowed to participate in the program.
Now, Victorian-based sporting clubs will remain eligible so long as they affiliate with a Victorian-equivalent sporting peak body in another jurisdiction.
“Common sense has prevailed, and over 110 Victorian kids and their families at the Little Athletics centre can now access the vouchers they deserve,” Ms Cupper said.
“The guidelines have been altered to better account for border communities like Mildura,
“Some political wins are a marathon not a sprint, but this is certainly an exception, and I’d like to thank Minister for Community Sport, Ros Spence, for her quick response time on this issue.”
Reimbursements for this round of the Get Active Victoria program remain open.
